Community Involvement
APC’s business success is inextricably interwoven with its community involvement. Through fun, rewarding projects, APC professionals, friends and families gather throughout the year to give back to groups and individuals in need. We are committed to remaining involved in our own community.

Recent Events:
American Heart Association fundraiser - APC Staff participated in National Wear Red Day on Friday, February 3rd, 2012 to show support for women’s heart health. In addition, during a week in February employees were allowed to pay $5 a day to wear jeans to work. We successfully raised $760 to donate to the American Heart Association.
Toiletry Collection Bin - APC is collecting toiletry items in the corporate office for a local non-profit that has a year-round need for toiletries for their residents. Items can include toothpaste, tooth and hair brushes, soap, hair products with no alcohol, mouthwash with no alcohol, feminine products, body products, body deodorants, lotion, etc.

Wake Assisted Living Christmas Party - APC staff members hosted a holiday party that included a visit from Santa for residents of Wake Assisted Living, a facility comprised mostly of Alzheimer's and Dementia patients. Visiting the residents of Wake Assisted Living is an annual tradition that is a special part of the holiday season for many APC employees.
StepUP Ministry Children’s Program Donations - APC collected donations to StepUP Ministry, a local interfaith community organization that provides second chances to individuals and families committed to living independent, responsible, and productive lives. Free to Breathe Raleigh Lung Cancer Walk - APC’s Team Dollie participated in this walk on Saturday, November 5th, 2011 in memory of our dear friend, Dollie Shoemaker. We plan to make this walk a tradition each year—as a time to get together with friends of Dollie to remember the impact she had on our lives.
Thad and Alice Eure Walk for Hope - APC staff members participated in the 23nd annual Walk for Hope, a 10k walk through Umstead State Park in Raleigh on Sunday, October 9th, 2011. The event raises money for the scientific research and treatment of mental illness. Click here to learn more.
RWHRMA Mentor Program - APC HR staff members act as mentors to college students majoring in HR through the Raleigh/Wake Human Resource Management Association. Mentors meet with students regularly to review resumes, answer HR questions and provide guidance and career advice.
Walkers 4 Furry Kids - APC staff members and their furry friends participated in the 12th Annual K9-3K Dog Walk, which is sponsored by the SPCA to help raise money for homeless pets. The walk was held on Saturday, April 16th in downtown Raleigh.
Operation Unchain Dogs - APC joined with The Coalition to Unchain Dogs, a non-profit group working to improve the lives of less fortunate dogs that spend their lives on the end of a chain. APC committed to raising the funds to vaccinate and spay/neuter a needy dog and to provide the labor and materials needed to build the dog a safe, fenced area.
Xtreme Beginnings Career Exploration Event - In April, APC and other business professionals joined together to meet with and talk to more than 600 Wake County high school students, to encourage them to explore various careers and to conduct practice job interviews.
Dash Down Greenville - APC participated in the Dash Down Greenville in March to help raise money for the North Texas Food Bank. This event proved to be a great time for all involved. Click here to learn more about the event.
